New poetry at the xx fest to celebrate international women’s day

I read from my soon to be launched collection at the second XX Women’s Writing Festival at Chapter Arts Centre in Cardiff to celebrate international women’s day. There were events with all genres – poetry, fiction, film, journalism, including one event where men read their favourite women writers. I was lucky enough to read with Forward prize-winning poet Kathryn Simmonds, plus Jemma King, nominated for Dylan Thomas Prize and Cumbrian poet Kim Moore, winner of the Eric Gregory award. Amy Wack, Seren Poetry editor (publisher of my soon to be launch pamphlet) gave a great introduction about how there are too few women heading up small poetry presses.

Supported by the Arts Council of Wales, Welsh Government and the National Lottery.
